This system developed for the needs of the SNCF is transposable to the road and waterway fields.
It calls on various techniques :
  • Creation of a descriptive map of the circulation lines with positioning on this map of landmarks, kilometre panels, beacons, etc..
  • Use of a module receiving G.P.S. signals from satellites.
  • Interpretation of geographical coordinates to transform them into information usable in the baseline specific to the application.
  • Intelligent odometry: a process for counting wheel revolutions with automatic perimeter correction.
  • Recognition of events for updating fixed markers, beacons or others.
  • Journey form recognition to ensure updating by correlation with map.
  • Driving aids systems thanks to a user-friendly man-machine interface.
